Author: Margarita This PortaSim does not allow for the student to have a nuetral seated position. It is too high even when it is set at its lowest height. Your elbows are not beside your waist, as they should be, when trying to practice. You find yourself with your arms up in the air and your wrists bent. ALL hygiene students at my school have the same complaint and are unhappy. The overall idea of the portasim is great, but it should have been made so that you can practice with it correctly and not have to struggle with your positioning and posture.

Author: Karen ( student) I am a student and was not sure if I would use this product or not. I bought this item about a month ago, and I love it!! What a great way to practice at home and be allowed to have total access around the manikin. I am able to practice pretty much anywhere. I read the feedback about the porta sim not going low enough. I have not had that problem at all. I had to raise it up from its lowest postion to be able to use it comfortably. I recommend the porta sim!! I am very happy that I decided to buy it. Thank you for such a great product!!

Author: Cynthia Biron Leiseca (crb@sprintmail.com) The Porta Sim is ideal to practice at home with my DVD "Precision in Periodontal Instrumentation"
For those who need the Porta Sim to be lower, take out the center pole, take it to a hardware store and have them cut 3 inches off the bottom of the pole. Then do not put the tray on when you put back the center pole. It will make the Porta Sim 3 inches shorter.

Author: sweetyg79@yahoo.com My question is that with portasim, can I will be able to fix my typhodont in a way so that maxillary part will also fix as in manniquen. I mean maxilary teeth down facing.
Thanks
